Ultraviolence
An album cover concept for the critically acclaimed third album by Lana Del Rey, Ultraviolence. Focusing on themes of melancholy and angst, love and heartbreak, obsession and addiction, Ultraviolence symbolizes things falling apart – like flowers slowly dying or lungs deteriorating from smoking cigarettes. The record was influenced sonically by 90s Rock with guitar-heavy production, and visually by black and white film photography, a 1981 Mercedes Benz 380 SL, blue hydrangeas, and a pack of Marlboros.
