A boutique hotel for artist residencies in Aberdeen, Scotland. The Blackwell is a historic and expressive escape from modernity. The surname “Blackwell” of English origin means "dark stream of water". The hotel overlooks the North Sea, known to have rough surf and water so dark you cannot see through it. The interior is visually inspired by maximalist architecture, such as the Victorian Era.
